Blimp grew up in South Georgia, graduated Americus High School, Georgia Southwestern College, (Jr. college at the time, in Americus), Georgia Southern College, Statesboro, GA., and from New Orleans Seminary in New Orleans.

He served churches in Georgia while in school, and in Louisiana during seminary and then moved to Sanford, FL, First Baptist Church, and to First Baptist, Crestview, FL. He was elected as the Associate in the Church Music Department of the Florida Baptist Convention in 1988 and served there twenty years. During those years he also served as interim minister of music in churches in Florida including Terry Parker in Jacksonville.

He is married to Gloria Davis who is the accompanist for the LaVilla School of the Arts, and also the pianist for Deermeadows Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He and Gloria are the proud parents of a son and daughter who both are quite involved in music and ministry. These two children have blessed the Davis family with seven grandchildren.

We have two choirs at Terry Parker, the Adult Choir meets Wednesday evening from 7:15-8:30 and sings in the Sunday worship service, and the Keenager Choir (Senior Adults) which meetson Tuesday morning from 10:30- 11:30 and sings from time to time at worship and also visits local senior adult homes. We would be delighted to have you come sing with us!
